High-Definition Impulse Response (HDIR)
WizooVerb W2′s exceptionally faithful reproductions of known acoustic spaces is possible thanks to HDIR (High-Definition Impulse Response), a Wizoo exclusive. Like IR, it basically works by sweeping a desired acoustic space with calibrated audio signals and capturing and convolving the ambient return to take the aural fingerprint of the room. HDIR brings extremely high definition to the process that refines the IR method, greatly improving the precision of the resulting reverb quality. WizooVerb W2 includes source models from 10 world-class recording and performance venues including Ambience, Booth, Cathedral, Chamber Large, Chamber Medium, Chamber Small, Church, Concert Hall, Dance Club, Opera House, Philharmonic Hall, Room Small, Scoring Stage, Studio Large, and Studio Small. Standard Impulse Response (IR)
Until the advent of HDIR, IR (Impulse Response) technology had been the leading standard for measuring, capturing, and reproducing the sound of actual acoustic spaces such as concert halls. WizooVerb W2 can import the wealth of standard third-party IR files in existence. Moreover, WizooVerb W2 can solve problems that plague many IR signals by trimming silence before the first impulse and removing the direct signal. As with HDIR, you can easily shape the imported IR spaces using a graphic envelope control.
Algorithmic Reverb
Wizoo’s proprietary A.I.R. technology brings you algorithmic reverb in the same package as HDIR and IR. Here you have complete control over parameters such as tail delay, room size, ambience, density, and color. A.I.R. gives you intimate control over your reverb sound from subtle adjustments to creating surreal spaces.

From Presets to Sound Design
Despite its sophistication, WizooVerb W2 is extremely simple to use. Start by choosing any of the 100 presets, either by name or category. You’ll find several common controls right up front for instant access to the most important parameters like size, pre-delay and time. Shape the overall frequency characteristics with the 4-band master EQ, change HDIR rooms, edit imported IR envelopes, and tweak the A.I.R. parameters. There are also 2 user-defined parameters giving you control over the parameters that are most important to your application. In other words, this is the one reverb that will take you everywhere from presets of the greatest spaces in the world to designing your own unique ambient environments.

The Vocoding Engine
Vokator’s FFT spectral engine is a milestone in vocoder development. Previous vocoders used eight, sixteen, twenty, or even thirty-two frequency bands – the more frequency bands, the smoother and creamier the effect. Unlike its predecessors, Vokator’s advanced engine uses 1024 bands. In addition to its stunningly transparent, full-resolution operation, Vokator’s bands can even be grouped together for a convincing vintage-vocoder emulation. To ensure optimal dynamic range across the frequency spectrum, an integrated multi-band compressor balances the levels of all bands.
Fully Configurable Design
A pair of vocoding channels can either be spectrally combined or played independently. Channel A can be switched between an integrated file player or external input A, while Channel B can be set to a full-featured synthesizer, a time-stretching granular sampler, or external input B. For a traditional vocoder effect, the frequency spectrum of the external input would be controlled by the synthesizer, but Vokator’s capabilities are much more advanced than simple vocoding.
Diverse Sound Sources
Vokator is both an effect plug-in and a vocoder-based synthesizer. Its synthesizer features an advanced dual-oscillator design with dynamic preset morphing controlled by the modulation wheel. Vokator’s granular sampler can independently control a sample’s pitch and time. A full range of modulators – step sequencers, envelope followers, LFOs, and more – can be easily routed to any of the synthesizer’s or sampler’s parameters.

The NI-Spektral Delay differs from the many other audio effects in that it uses real-time FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation) to split each channel of a stereo signal into as many as 160 separately modifiable frequency bands (even up to 1024 bands internally). The level, delay time and feedback amount for each of this bands can be set separately. Additionally, various modulation effects can be applied to the signal in the frequency domain, which allows for even further sound manipulation.
The NI-Spektral Delay offers exceptionally great possibilities for creative sound design – from subtle corrections and rich effects to the total alienation of the input signal. Never the less, the NI-Spektral Delay is easy to use since all parameters are controlled intuitively and comfortably from a sophisticated graphical user interface. The NI-Spektral Delay runs either stand-alone or as a plug-in. It offers professional sound quality and can be fully controlled by MIDI.
Edit Graphs which are intuitive to use and packed with comfortable edit functions are used to set up the delay times and feedback levels for the bands: each of the up to 160 bands per side can be delayed separately and fed back to the delay input with an individual amount. The delay times can be set freely or according to the rhythm via a selectable note grid. The maximum delay time is 12 seconds. The effects achievable with this band delay include rather subtle colorings as well as rhythmic courses of the partial tones and dense, atmospheric sound textures.
The modulation effects of the NI-Spektral Delay, which are expandable by plug-ins, are applied in the frequency domain of the audio signal and offer many unusual processing options – such as rotation of the frequency bands or reverb simulation by ‘smearing’ the amplitude courses of the bands. The modulation effects make a big contribution to the unique sound possibilities of the NI-Spektral Delay.
The amplitudes of the bands are also controlled intuitively by drawing in an Edith Graph with the mouse. In contrast to those of conventional filters, the filter curves resulting from this can have any shape and therefore make possible even very extreme filter settings and sweeps. For example, it is possible to completely filter all frequencies while some very narrow frequency bands are still audible. The filter curves can be drawn together or separately for the two channels of a stereo signal.
Separate feedback delays for up to 160 bands per stereo side, unique modulation effects and freely drawable filter curves make the NI-Spektral Delay an exceptional flexible, powerful and creative effects tool. All parameters such as filter, delay and feedback settings can be modulated with an integrated LFO or via MIDI. This makes it possible to create very organic and lively effects which can easily be played live.
The NI-Spektral Delay runs on Macintosh or under Windows, either stand-alone with MME, Direct Sound, Sound Manager and ASIO or as a plug-in with a VST – or DirectX – compatible host program. Many presets for different applications (e.g. guitar, vocals, drums, ambiences, reverberations, spacial effects) are included.
